Michel assigned her students to research, interview, and report what community veterans had to say about the Korean War. Students used Internet sites and books to research about the war. They also conducted oral history interviews. The interview questions focused on the veterans' experiences during the war and the effects of the war in the community. Students wrote reports based on the information collected. As part of the project, Michel had students create a collage of events in the community and nation during the Korean War.
